Name: Mike Verna
Aliases: Mitch Taverna, Sloan Caprice
Birthplace: New York, NY
Aerial: Verna does not have much of an aerial game to speak of. He is more focused on power moves.
Appearance: Verna is stocky and extremely muscular. His bodybuilder physique is on par with that of Brian Cage. One thing I don’t like is the weird chest plate piece he wears to the ring. It ties into his character. However, I just don’t find it to be very cool and I think the same effect could be accomplished with a t-shirt.
Charisma: Mike Verna calls himself the “Man of Steel” and his gimmick is basically that of Superman. It’s not ground-breaking, but I don’t have an issue with it either. He seems to have a good rapport with the crowd. Yet, it feels like he needs to turn it up a notch.
Power: Verna has vicious power. Obviously, this is his strong suit. He is able to dominate his opponents regardless of their size. Also, he uses a very slick power finisher to punctuate his matches.
Technical: Mike also possesses solid technical ability. He’s not dazzling or stunning on the mat, but he’s proficient. I wouldn’t be surprised if he competed as an amateur.
Overview: Mike Verna has a ton of potential. Though, he not quite there yet. I think he still has a lot of progress to make before he’s ready for the next level. He might benefit from some time in a tag team. That’s something I believe would really help his development and possibly bring more notoriety. Regardless, Verna has big things in his future. His path is clear. Hopefully, the ‘Man of Steel’ will breakthrough.
